July 2018 MORNING OFFERING
Husband and Wife Prayer
Merciful Jesus, grant that I and my spouse may have a true and understanding love for each other, just like that of St Joachim and St Anne, your earthly grandparents. Grant that we may both be filled with faith and trust in God, and in each other.
Give us the grace to live together in peace and harmony. May we always be patient with each other’s weaknesses and grow together from each other’s strengths.
Help us to forgive one another’s failings, grant us patience, kindness, cheerfulness, and the spirit of placing each other’s well being, ahead of our own.
May the love that brought us together grow and mature with each passing year. Bring us both ever closer to you through our love for each other. Let our love grow to perfection through your Divine Mercy.
Holy St Joachim and St Anne, I ask you to protect my family and to renew our love everyday. Help us to carry on until the end, faithful to our marital love, and to prepare ourselves to enjoy God’s eternal love in Heaven. Amen.
Jesus, through the most pure Heart of Mary, I offer you the prayers, works, joys and sufferings of this day, in union with the Masses being offered throughout the world for all the intentions of thy Sacred Heard, I offer them especially for Archbishop William Goh and Archbishop Emeritus Nicholas Chia, for all our priests, religious sisters, brothers, seminarians and novices. I also pray for:-
Our Holy Father Pope Francis’s intention that the lapsed Christians who have strayed from the faith, through our prayer and witness to the Gospel, may rediscover the merciful closeness of the Lord and the beauty of the Christian life.
The world leaders, may they seek peace through the wisdom of God.
The lay-apostles, may they be the reflection of your love and compassion.
Couples undergoing the Marriage Preparation Course, keep their eyes focus on you as the source of love, peace and joy.
The youth, be encouraged to become disciples and missionaries of the Gospel.
The aged, the lonely, the depressed and those tempted to commit suicide; may they be touched and strengthened by the loving presence of the Lord.
The jobless, bless them with work to sustain them.
Marriages, bless them with the grace to bear with one another with tenderness.
Families, may they exercise charity in their homes.
The sick and suffering, bless them and their caregivers for accepting their sufferings gracefully.
Prisoners, drug offenders and ex-prisoners, bless them with pure hearts and firm faith in their healing and transformation.
Those on death row, may they seek you, Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Grant that capital punishment be abolished.
The souls of our dearly departed, may their souls rest in peace eternal. Amen.
