At the beginning of 2013 I share this with you for I am a year wiser I hope!!
I thank each one of you for the kindness and love you have shown me in the last year. "Gratitude is the memory of the heart." Let's live 2013 with a joy that makes others smile, laughter that allows Jesus to be alive to others and a love that embraces every one we meet. The Intercessory prayer of the elderly is a very important prayer for the world. Thomas Merton speaks of the elderly as 'tabernacles of God in the world.' "They are the ones who keep the universe from being destroyed, they are the little ones, they do not know themselves, but the whole earth depends on them." I dedicate this specially to my very dear sister Jeannette who is not 100% well. "A prayerful person who suffers mental incompetence such as in Alzheimer's disease, attitude often remains in habitual prayer, unbroken by the failure of health. The heart that has continually chosen over many years to be emptied of self and filled with Christ remains fixed in that attitude, and continues as a channel of grace in the world." Jerome Kodell osb Many of us in the Chrismatic Renewal remember Sr. Eileen Morrisroe, Good Shepherd Sister who started the Risen Christ Prayer Group in 1977. She passed away in the States on the 6th February 2012. This article also appears on the Good Shepherd Sisters website..gssmmission.org.sg It is a tribute to Sr. Eileen. I ask you to remember her in your prayers. With deep appreciation. Sr. M. Gerard rgs Marymount

(Note: may take a few seconds for video download) Christina Ng I watched her as she came for prayer each week. She was always so gracious. When I heard she was a Cancer patient I marvelled at her serenity. She greeted me with a smile and gave me the assurance that she was all right, hiding the real physical pain she was going through. After the praise and worship with the group she and Michael, her husband never missed the fellowship with the other members. This wonderful couple showed so much appreciation for the love and support they enjoy each week from the Healing Ministry members. When The Master summoned Christina home she went peacefully and joyfully. She bid farewell to her loved ones and was ready for her journey home to the Father. To Michael, her husband, I am touched by your gentle quiet devotion to your sick Christina right to the end of her life. Now I appreciate your presence at our prayer meetings and I am inspired by the generous giving of your loved one to Jesus. Thank you for such wonderful witnessing to our loving God. Rgs Sr. M.
